The basics
Concrete pools are built on-site with steel reinforcement and layered concrete — huge design flexibility, but higher cost and a longer build. Fibreglass pools arrive prefabricated and install quickly, with a smooth, non-porous surface that resists algae and needs fewer chemicals.
Maintenance
Concrete’s porous surface needs regular cleaning, resurfacing and repairs. Fibreglass needs far less. Both benefit from routine pH monitoring, filtration checks and seasonal care.
Lifetime cost
Concrete carries higher lifetime costs through maintenance and resurfacing. Despite a potentially higher upfront price, fibreglass usually costs less overall thanks to reduced upkeep and durability.
